• Lucky grand prize winners of 3 Mercedes Maybach S-650s and Omega Speedmaster watches

Dubai: It was a day of good fortune for several lucky Emirates NBD customers, as the bank, a leading banking group in the region, announced the grand prize winners of its Save.Win.Drive. promotional campaign in a first-of-its-kind virtual award ceremony.

UAE National customer Rashid Ahmed, Iraqi National customer Ghanim Dafli and Dubai based Jinluo Water Co. each won a Mercedes-Maybach S 650 car while other lucky customers won luxury Omega Speedmaster watches as a reward for saving with Emirates NBD.

The campaign awarded existing and new individual as well as business customers of the bank for increasing their account balances during the campaign period of Sep 2019 to Feb 2020. Reflecting the bank’s diverse customer base, winners were from more than 25 different nationalities, with the oldest prize winner being 93 years of age and banking for over 25 years with Emirates NBD while the youngest winner was 21 years old.

To maintain health and safety guidelines, the ceremony was live-streamed across the bank’s popular social media platforms. The event was hosted by popular Emirati motivational speaker and RJ Saif Alfalasi and over 100,000 customers tuned in to be part of the function while also winning luxury prizes and shopping vouchers by participating in gamified quizzes during the ceremony.

The winners’ excitement and happiness were captured via video messages, conveying their delight at winning despite the uncertainty and challenges the world over. Emirati businessman Rashid Ahmed said,” I have been banking with Emirates NBD for the past 12 years and it is my bank of choice because of its wide-spread footprint and investment in technology.” He also added that winning this just before Eid made it much more significant, especially considering the ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Commenting on the wins, Suvo Sarkar, Senior EVP and Group Head, Retail Banking & Wealth Management at Emirates NBD, said: “I would like to congratulate the lucky winners of this mega campaign that has been received very well by our customers. I would like to also thank all the viewers of our unique virtual award ceremony for their engagement and participation. As the UAE’s bank of choice for individuals and businesses alike, we will continue to make available new and attractive ways to reward our customers while encouraging them to adopt positive financial habits.”

Emirates NBD offers its customers a wide range of transactional and interest-bearing accounts, flexible fixed deposit products as well as award-winning online or mobile-based savings accounts to save and earn. Individual customers can open a new account instantly by downloading the bank’s Mobile Banking App, scanning in their identification documents and providing relevant personal details.
