Dubai: EMAC will be participating at the Fifth Annual Middle East Bunkering Convention taking place between 5 - 6 February, 2020 at the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Beach Hotel.
EMAC will participate as a silver sponsor, and in a panel discussion themed ‘What are the potential legal and regulatory issues the marine fuels industry should consider in a post-IMO 2020 world?’
Mr. Majid Obaid bin Bashir, Chairman and Secretary General at EMAC, will join industry experts and legal advisors to consider how the Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre plays a vital role in the provisions of specialist dispute resolution mechanisms to curb dispute costs and to facilitate confidentiality.
“We are delighted to return to the Bunkering Convention, as the forum provides a platform for informed, independent discussions about the key challenges facing the marine fuels sector in the region. EMAC’s role is and continues to be about raising awareness around the importance of EMAC’s arbitration and mediation services specifically designed to support the maritime sector”, said Mr. Bashir. “In addition, such events give us the opportunity to highlight ways in which disputing parties can manage their costs efficiently”, he added.
EMAC’s list of events have been posted on the Centre’s website, with the Breakfast series continuing on 17 February 2020 that will look at the enforcement of maritime claims in the UAE.
