• EIS-J students win this segment second year in a row

DUBAI, UAE — Emirates International School - Jumeirah (EIS-J) students have outdone themselves again, proving their academic and practical, problem-solving mettle in a local school competition.

EIS Jumeirah Years 5 and 6 students successfully participated in the Gifted and Talented Competition held by Dubai College on 14 October, 2019, with the Year 5 team beating 18 other schools to win the Academic section of the competition.

The participating students were tested in problem-solving skills, mathematical reasoning, science tasks and decision-making abilities, with the school teams competing against each other. EIS Jumeirah’s Year 5 students were the only team to solve the academic problem completely.

This is the second year in a row that EIS-J students won the competition’s Academic segment, showcasing their scholarly credentials and the school’s educational expertise.

EIS-J’s Year 5 students who took part in the competition are Sultan Al Remeithi, Pashin Buhariwalla, Aisha Choi, Hrishi Gaitonde and Hamdan Asad.

Pratibha Rao, School Principal of EIS Jumeirah, said: “The school is extremely proud of their win. This achievement is a testimony of our academic training as well as our emphasis on all-round student development.”

The Gifted and Talented Competition, running for three years now, sees primary school students competing in events based on Philanthropy, Arts and Academic fields. The primary competitors get to experience their host school’s facilities and pit their wits and skills against students from all over Dubai.

EIS Jumeirah is the first school in the region to offer the IB Diploma programme, giving students a broad, well-rounded international education experience and the skills needed for success at university and beyond.
