DUBAI  - Emaar Properties' hospitality division will stop taking bookings at three hotels in Dubai for more than five months from March 15, a company document seen by Reuters said, in a sign of the coronavirus impact on travel demand.

Emaar, one of Dubai's biggest hotel operators, will not take bookings at Address Fountain Views, Vida Creek Harbour and Vida Emirates Hills from March 15 to August 31, the document said.

Address Fountain Views, located in Dubai's popular downtown area near the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower, is one of Emaar's newest hotels.

"Following the recent global impact on the travel industry drawing us into a state of force majeure, Emaar Hospitality Group has taken the decision to temporarily refocus on a selected number of assets," a spokesman told Reuters.

The same wording also featured in the company document.

Restaurants, gyms and pools in the three hotels will remain open, the document and spokesman said.

Guests would be rebooked at other Emaar hotels, the document said.
