Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt is expected to launch a navigation line linking the port of Ain Sokhna in the country with East Africa at a competitive price starting October 2019, Minister of the Public Business Sector Hisham Tawfik said.

All services for this navigation route are expected to be completed in April 2020, Tawfik said, highlighting that launching this line comes as part of a series of services for maritime and land transportation of goods to expand the presence of Egyptian products in African markets.

The full announcement of this navigation route will be made during the conference which will be held by the ministry on 2 July for all exporters and importers, the minister added in a recent statement.

With Egypt chairing of the African Union for the year 2019, the African market provides opportunities for businesses in line with Egypt’s key role as a north gate for African trade with the European countries, Tawfik concluded.
