Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) has estimated its planned budget for fiscal year 2021/2021 at EGP 9 billion.

This includes a current budget of EGP 3 billion and investments of EGP 6 billion, according to a statement by the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy on Sunday.

The country is currently establishing several renewable energy projects, including wind power plants with a combined capacity of 500 megawatts (MW) in the Gulf of Suez (250 MW for NREA and 250 for Lakela Power) and 70 MW solar power plants (50 MW in Zaafarana and 20 MW in Hurghada) in collaboration with the governments of Germany and Japan, the Minister of Electricity, Mohamed Shaker, said.
