The Dubai Maritime Training Center of Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) has recently concluded an awareness campaign entitled "Safety of Life at Sea and Social Responsibility", with strong participation from marine drivers and operators. The campaign, which was organized in Al Wasl Floating restaurant, Dubai Marina, included a series of educational activities focused on defining maritime safety and enhancing awareness of the best response to emergencies. The event was in line with the efforts of DMCA to integrate marine safety and navigation safe and operational efficiency along the local coasts of Dubai.

Abdullah Bin Touk, Director of Marine Inspection, DMCA, said: "The Maritime Authority is committed to spreading awareness amongst the community about the importance of using safety equipment whilst driving marine vehicles and exercising and using the sea. This will enable them to take precautionary measures to avoid potential risks during emergencies and contribute to improving maritime safety standards. This is a top priority for the preservation of life and property, and a key pillar to enhance the competitive advantages of the local maritime community as one of the best in the world. "

DMCA is keen to launch marine awareness and education campaigns, and participate in maritime industry events, in order to enhance cooperation and coordination with various stakeholders in the maritime sector in Dubai. Doing so will create a favorable marine environment for business, investment and leisure; and we are committed to spreading the culture of enhancing maritime safety and best practices, in line with Dubai's pioneering position on the global maritime map.”

Mohammed Khalifa Al Huraiz, Director of Waterway Control, DMCA, said: "Maritime safety is of paramount importance and is a key cornerstone for attracting more qualitative investments to support growth and economic diversification. We at DMCA are constantly working to meet the highest standards and best practices in the field of maritime safety, within the framework of cooperation and continuous coordination with our strategic partners from the public and private sectors.

He continued: “We are responsible for launching periodic education campaigns in line with the highest standards of excellence, quality, innovation and maritime safety; in order to serve the objectives of the "marine sector strategy" in developing, organizing and enhancing the maritime operations to reach a secure, renewable and sustainable maritime sector. We look forward in continuing our awareness and education role by launching large-scale campaigns to raise community awareness and build safety among boat users and marine pioneers in Dubai."
