Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The Dubai Land Department (DLD) has played an important role in strengthening the alliance between the United Arab Emirates and the People's Republic of China (China) over the past decades by working with its partners to further attract Chinese investors, and to identify the investment opportunities available in Dubai and the UAE in general.

Her Excellency Majida Ali Rashid, Assistant Director and Head of the Real Estate Investment Management and Promotion Centre at DLD, said: "We recognise the importance of China as a trade and strategic partner for the United Arab Emirates, and we will be supportive of the Government's direction and its policy to strengthen the relations between the two friendly countries. This will be accomplished by opening the investment horizons in Dubai to Chinese companies and individuals looking to benefit from the opportunities offered by the UAE due to its strategic location and advanced infrastructure."

One of the latest initiatives supported by Dubai has been its successful participation in the ‘Chinese Luxury Property Show’ in Beijing. During the three-day event, DLD was keen to organise numerous meetings with senior investors from companies and individuals.

The department focused its attention on companies operating in real estate and hospitality sectors, where it met with officials representing Century 21 China, 5i5j, and CIREA, as well as with investment companies, including the business centre, the tourism university, and furniture companies and factories.

On the first day of the exhibition, a delegation from the Department attended the opening and toured the exhibition and participating platforms. The delegation also visited participating developer platforms from Dubai and held a meeting with the Dubai Chamber office in China, attended by a gathering of investors and participants.

In recognition of the great role played by the UAE Embassy in Beijing, and its role in strengthening ties and supporting the business community in the UAE to benefit from the business opportunities in China, DLD honoured His Excellency Dr. Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to China. The recognition also included event organisers who provided an ideal platform for developers to showcase their products.

At the forum — held on the sidelines of the exhibition — DLD made its contributions clear by explaining the important role played by its Real Estate Promotion Trustee, and offered services and privileges provided to investors, focusing on the real estate investment in Dubai. It also highlighted its preservation of investor rights in light of the current legal and regulatory environment in the Emirate.

At the end of show, DLD was able to reach agreements with Chinese investors during the gathering, launching the Real Estate Promotion Trustee office in China. During the same meeting, Her Excellency Majida Ali Rashid delivered a comprehensive speech where she thanked the organisers for inviting DLD and expressed her support to achieving its mission of making Dubai the world's best destination for real estate investment.

Her Excellency concluded: “We are pleased to participate and represent the real estate sector in Dubai through the Real Estate Investment Management and Promotion Centre — our primary purpose for participating in the exhibition. In doing so, we hope to have painted a realistic picture of the beautiful Emirate that represents it as a welcoming environment for visitors and investors from all over the world.”

These events come as part of DLD’s contribution to support the UAE-China relationship, which was recently crowned by the announcement of the ‘2018 UAE-China Week’. DLD will continue its efforts by organising exhibitions and launching promotional initiatives that enhance trade relations between the two countries.
