Dubai, UAE: American Hospital Dubai, part of Mohamed & Obaid Al Mulla Group, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with United Imaging, one of the global leading company in advanced medical imaging and radiotherapy equipment. As per the agreement signed during the Arab Health 2020, high-performance (PET/CT) scan machine manufactured by United Imaging to be installed at American Hospital Dubai’s Nuclear Medicine Department, and both companies will be engaged in intensive cooperation in clinical and scientific research.

A Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan is an imaging test that helps reveal how your tissues and organs are functioning. A PET scan uses a radioactive drug (tracer) to show this activity. This scan can sometimes detect disease before it shows up on other imaging tests. The new technology   is useful in revealing or evaluating several conditions, including many cancers, heart disease and brain disorders. The newly installed United Imaging’s high-performance PET/CT uMI780, with high sensitivity and ultra-high resolution, offers exceptional image clarity that enable healthcare professionals to find small lesions and to help improve diagnostic and treatment precision. Besides, with its 30cm ultra-large Axial FOV, a whole-body scan can be completed in as few as 3 bed positions and 5 minutes for fast throughout and improved patient comfort.
