The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) is establishing its first Chairman office for the Middle East and North Africa.

The IAEE has appointed the Jordanian investor Bilal Al-Birmawi, CEO of 1st Arabia Exhibition and Conference Organizing Company, to be responsible for establishing a permanent office for the association to act as a platform for the activities of the Association's members in the region and to activate their role in developing the local and international exhibitions and events industry.

He said that the office will be based in Dubai and will then be invited to select board members representing exhibition and event organizers, exhibition centers, suppliers and service providers from around 13 countries in the Middle East and North Africa, Which is active in the exhibitions industry such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan and Egypt.

He pointed out that the office will activate the exhibition and events industry in the region by increasing the number of members of the Middle East, who now are 51 members from 12 countries, from Saudi Arabia, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Qatar, Tunisia and Iraq. It will encompass all countries in the Middle East and North Africa through industry-specific activities such as training programs including the latest technologies and methods of managing opponents, and the granting of an international license at the CEM exhibition management, which is the most important international certificate for exhibition and event industry professionals, owned by IAEE. Which will be nurtured and developed to include all of the Middle East and North Africa exhibition industry statistics, as well as increasing the number of members of the association and to attract the Expo Expo to be held in the Middle East.

Al-Barmawi added that the industry of exhibitions and events is one of the important factors in economic growth. It contributes to stimulating many vital sectors such as transportation, shipping and e-marketing services, enhancing the occupancy of tourist accommodation facilities and supporting services, enabling the women leadership, and young professional, securing permanent and temporary jobs and creating new jobs. It is also central to attracting foreign capital to support investment projects, to exchange knowledge, and successful experiences among countries

The Jordanian investor Bilal Al-Barmawi is responsible for establishing the Association's office because of his extensive experience in organizing local and international exhibitions and conferences and his active membership in the most important international organizations specialized in the exhibitions industry such as UFI, SITE, ICCA, PCMA and BMI.

He also noted that he looks forward to establishing a special international academy for the exhibition and conference industry based in the Middle East in cooperation with the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) to create opportunities for Jordanian youth and to integrate into this industry.

The IAEE, headquartered in Texas, was founded in 1928 as a representative of the interests of the exhibition and event industry. The association has grown to more than 52 countries and has more than 13,000 active members.
