AMMAN - Minister of Labour Nidal Bataineh on Tuesday stressed the necessity of employers' commitment to providing a safe work environment for employees.

According to a Labour Ministry statement, the minister addressed employers and the ministry’s occupational safety and health inspectors, stressing the importance of carrying out their humanitarian duty, especially as the world celebrates World Day for Safety and Health at Work under the slogan “Stop the pandemic: Safety and health at work can save lives", the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2020 focuses on tackling the spread of infectious diseases in the workplace, in particular COVID-19.

The Ministry of Labour has prepared 17 guides on safety and health protection measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus, which it published on its website http://www.mol.gov.jo/.
