Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi School of Government (ADSG) has announced the launch of “The Leader Program”, with classes starting on January 2019. The program reflects the UAE leadership’s directive to cultivate the next generation of civil servants and ensure that they are equipped to fulfil the government’s strategic development plans.

Geared towards achieving the Abu Dhabi vision of establishing a highly competitive, knowledge-based economy, ADSG’s new program will fast-track the professional development process of highly capable government employees and enhance their learning competency levels and capabilities.

Following a rigorous selection process, 25 Abu Dhabi government employees with promising potential and exceptional skills have been selected as the first class to undertake the program’s two-year curriculum. ADSG has also started its selection process for the subsequent intake.

ADSG developed this prestigious program as a competitive platform designed to recognize and nurture high-potential employees. Running parallel to its four main training areas, The Leader Program is specifically aimed at high-potential UAE National employees in the early stages of their career. The selected leaders will build critical capabilities, undertake business simulations, and use world-class experiential learning tools to help enable and drive future career success.

The program includes in-class training, coaching, conferences, events, meetings with senior leaders, individual and group projects and the opportunity to take advantage of job rotations and placements.

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Rashid Ahmed Al Hameli, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Executive Office, said: “The launch of The Leader Program comes as a continuation of our efforts at the Abu Dhabi School of Government to provide the best-in-class executive training aimed at equipping future leaders with the necessary tools to effectively navigate through changing market conditions. We are proud of all of them and see them as fulfilling key roles in the highest echelons of government in the years to come.”

ADSG was established in 2017 and is the government entity responsible for overseeing and planning the learning and development of all Abu Dhabi government employees. Its remit is to develop the most effective government workforce for the emirate through the provision of high-quality training and development activities, based on international best practice, while taking into account the priorities and requirements of Abu Dhabi.

To achieve its mandate of offering a world-class comprehensive learning experience to UAE government employees, ADSG is forging partnerships with the best local and international academic institutions, as well as online educational platforms from around the world.
