Dubai: The UAE famous for booming economy and constant economic growth, also has a softer side: a vibrant art scene and one of the most robust gallery landscapes in the Middle East.
Dubai, famous for showcasing contemporary exhibitions and fine art galleries, calls itself home to many famous artists as well as the most internationally diverse art fairs in the world.
Coming week on 17th & 18th November, the Dubai International Financial Centre will host the famous DIFC Art nights, transporting their visitors into a world of creativity and inspiration right in the heart of Dubai. Showcasing more than 40 incredible artists from around the world that will share their newest masterpieces with the public.
Among them, newly discovered talent: Gulden Oguz, German-Turkish painter and free spirit, who escaped the conventual life and fulfilled her biggest dream in the UAE: she became an artist and painter. Following her calling, she recently launched a series of oil paintings on canvas that she will now reveal for the first time to the public.
“Each painting is more than just color on a canvas, it’s a piece of my soul, telling the story of universal unconditional love.” States Miss Oguz. “Dubai, melting pot of cultures, land of opportunities has given me the courage and inspiration to step out of my conventional life, be daring, and find my true vocation! I feel nowhere else in the world this would have been possible!” Miss Oguz elaborates.
The UAE allows its residents and visitors alike to explore, unwind and create. Thinking outside the box, and continuously striving for the New, is something the UAE’s leader encourage and foster. Inspiration and Innovation are at the heartbeat of the city.
“My path has not been easy! To break-through the traditional life, and find the courage to start something entirely new was difficult. But my art is inspired by Rumi, famous poet and scholar and has changed my life ever since I touched the brush for the first time.” Elaborates Miss Oguz.”
Gulden Oguz lives since a decade in the UAE, as Turkish woman, born and raised in Germany, she unifies contradicting aspects within herself. Marketing Manager by profession, artist at heart, she changed her entire life a few years ago by risking it all for her passion.
She has not regretted this since and wants to encourage others to follow their calling. To say it with the words of Rumi: “With life as short as a half-taken breath, don't plant anything but love!”
Where else shall this be possible if not in the UAE. The land of opportunities.
