Cairo, Egypt – Intelligent building technologies can help create more sustainable and responsible cities around the world. This past week, Superior Essex Communications, a leading manufacturer and supplier of communications cables, presented its sustainable cables at Intelligent Cities Exhibition and Conference (ICEC) 2021, in Cairo, Egypt, to industry leaders in the region.

ICEC is the leading smart and sustainable cities show and brought together more than 4,000 senior-level decision makers and more than 6,000 participants. Paul Weintraub, Head of International Development, represented Superior Essex Communications at the show.

On Thursday, Oct. 28, Weintraub delivered, “Going Beyond 100m Over Copper: Myth, or Reality?” The presentation highlighted the benefits of the PowerWise© for Extended Distance products from Superior Essex. These sustainably made cables are optimized for Power-over-Ethernet applications and recently received UL performance verification up to 160 meters. This allows remote or external devices to connect to the main building network, thus enhancing their performance and energy efficiency.

“This conference is an important place to spark collaborative solutions for the intelligent building industry,” said Weintraub. “Our products are integral to sustainable, intelligent builds and it’s a pleasure to convene with industry leaders who see the value in lessening their impact on people and the planet.”

Last week, Weintraub and VP of Marketing Brian Ensign led “PowerWise© Technology Forum,” an event hosted jointly with AEM, in Dubai, UAE. The day-long affair was attended by more than 100 intelligent building industry leaders. It featured four presentations and a panel discussion on the latest standards and innovations in smart building technologies.
