To meet the challenges of water scarcity, Saudi Arabia has set ambitious targets aimed at reducing water losses on distribution networks (non-revenue water). In this context, SUEZ has been awarded by National Water Company (NWC) a 4.4 M€ contract for 2-year consultancy services related to Non-Revenue Water Management.

This key milestone in the Kingdom’s National Water Strategy 2030 aims at supporting NWC to reduce non-revenue water (NRW) in specific areas across the country by introducing international best practices and to improve the overall performance of the water sector.

Within this contract, SUEZ will assess NRW current values, propose specific action plans for all geographical areas and improve reporting and management practices with a strong focus on training and capacity building. Among other actions, SUEZ will support NWC to improve technical and commercial losses management best practices. SUEZ will rely on its dual expertise in water management and consulting services to implement smart water solutions and technologies such as AquaCircle™, a simulation tool that brings together diagnostics for drinking water networks and includes a targeted action plan based on the best cost/benefit scenarios.

We are very honored of National Water Company renewed trust after a successful 9-year partnership that began in 2008 to modernize water and sanitation services in Jeddah and improve the quality of service provided to users. With this new contract, SUEZ will bring international best practices to support the country in achieving its ambitious targets in terms of water losses reduction while preserving the environmental capital.” comments Cyril Courjaret, SUEZ Middle East & Central Asia CEO

This project, which is not conflicting with the ongoing Cluster Management Contracts, is key in the improvement of water distribution services across the country.
