Dubai, UAE: Zurich International Life in the Middle East has announced that Sajeev Nair will head up its Zurich Workplace Solutions (ZWS) business in the Middle East, effective 1 August.

With its own individual identity, Zurich Workplace Solutions was created to act as a plan administrator of the DIFC Employee Workplace Savings (DEWS) Plan.

The DEWS scheme is a progressive end-of-service benefits (EoSB) plan introduced within Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) to restructure its former defined employee benefit arrangement into a funded and professionally managed defined contribution plan. The initiative also offers a voluntary savings option, allowing employees working in DIFC to secure their financial future with ease.

Nair has been with Zurich Insurance Group for over 12 years, and in his previous role as Head of Global Application Development and Maintenance was responsible for Zurich’s global application portfolio, focusing on improving technology delivery models, simplifying the technology landscape, creating new commercial partnerships as well as driving innovation.

Up until 31 July, ZWS was led by Reena Vivek. She now hands over the reins to Nair, who has been identified as a strong internal successor. Vivek and Nair have worked closely together over the last few months, ensuring a smooth transition before the official appointment.

Meanwhile, Vivek has agreed to step in as interim CEO for Zurich International Life in the Middle East, subject to regulatory approval.

With a customer-centric focus, Nair said his vision for ZWS is to continue to deliver world-class EoSB solutions while continuously investing in technology and automation to provide an inspiring and engaging customer experience.

Sajeev Nair, Senior Executive Officer, Zurich Workplace Solutions, said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead an organization at the forefront of driving thought leadership and solution implementation to help transform end-of-service benefits in the region. We have an outstanding proposition with a highly motivated team in an exciting market, and I look forward to leading ZWS as we progress in building a secure financial future for our customers.”

“We are focused on investing in technology and process automation to enable on-boarding of an even greater number of members, as well as speaking to employers and employees to ensure that what matters to them also matters to us.”

Prior to joining Zurich in the Middle East, Nair worked as a management consultant in London, and his strong operational experience, a deep understanding of technology and a valuable network of relationships in the Financial Services, IT and BPO Services industry have provided the perfect preparation for the role.
