Dubai, UAE: RSA, a leading provider of insurance services in the region, announced its partnership with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to provide discounted home insurance premiums to its customers on DEWA Store on its smart app. Customers can avail up to 20% discount on their insurance for home contents and personal belongings for premiums starting as low as AED200 per year.

“DEWA is a pioneer in making every effort to make people’s lives easier through its quality initiatives that provide value-added services. This contributes to transforming Dubai into the smartest and happiest city in the world. DEWA Store supports DEWA’s efforts to consolidate its position as part of the life of every individual and family. RSA’s joining the list of companies that provide exclusive discounts and offers to DEWA customers through DEWA Store on its smart app is a value addition that enhances the objectives of this initiative,” said Marwan Bin Haidar, Executive Vice President of Innovation and the Future at DEWA.

Bin Haidar noted that DEWA Store was developed after studying the opinions and feedback of DEWA’s customers, partners, and members of society on the value-added services that it can provide to make them happier.

“We are very excited about the partnership with DEWA which is built around putting customers’ safety and service excellence at the centre. The partnership between RSA and DEWA will work towards incentivising Dubai residents to buy home contents and personal belongings insurance by making it even more accessible from a pricing perspective. It will also focus on raising awareness on the importance of securing peace of mind and having the right level of protection. Through this offer, we are confident that we will make headwinds in demystifying some of the misconceptions around home insurance and contributing to creating a culture where preventive measures come to the fore in terms of insurance and peace of mind,” said David Harris, Director of Marketing and Distribution at RSA.

The home contents and personal belongings insurance policy from RSA includes coverage to damaged or stolen contents even when the customer is opting to relocate to another premises within the UAE within the first 90 days of the policy. It also offers free alternative accommodation or loss of rent compensating up to 20 percent of the contents sum insured in the event of their home being uninhabitable. In addition, the policy also offers tenants a cover of up to 20 percent of the total sum of insured contents or up to AED100,000 in case of damage to the landlord’s property arising out of an accident within the insured’s home.
