• Majid Al Futtaim partners with Go Padel Egypt and hosts a three-day opening event with the aim of empowering women through sports

Cairo: Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, announced the launch of the first shaded Padel arena in Egypt at Majid Al Futtaim’s flagship property – Mall of Egypt – with the aim of introducing a space and activity that maintains the health and wellness of its customers. In partnership with Go Padel Egypt, Mall of Egypt opens the newly inaugurated courts to its customers at the mall’s plaza parking.

The Padel arena includes two serviced courts equipped with rackets and balls to provide guests with a fully-fledged experience. The area also includes a Padel academy that offers coaching sessions and private lessons for those interested.

Commenting on the launch, Diaa Yehia, Country Head at Majid Al Futtaim – Properties, noted: “The launch of our Padel arena – and our valued partnership with Go Padel – showcases how we continuously look to find new ways to provide our customers with diverse and innovative experiences and services at Majid Al Futtaim. Our goal behind the introduction of the courts is to provide our customers with a service that will prioritize and sustain their overall health and wellbeing.”

Majid Al Futtaim showcased its support for women in sports during the three-day opening event, which was sponsored by ON Time Sports and Baheya Foundation, by hosting a women’s tournament and honoring 10 influential women. The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Egyptian Squash Federation, Assem Khalifa, as well as officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Yehia added: "In further efforts to provide unique and memorable experiences at our malls, Mall of Egypt’s Padel courts will proudly host the 2021 African Padel Cup Tournament for the first time in Egypt, emphasizing on our commitment to creating great moments for everyone, everyday."
