Joramco, the Amman based MRO and the engineering arm of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), officially launched the Joramco Academy MRO Training Scholarship during their Open Day event, under the patronage of the Minister of Labor, Nidal Bataineh.

On February 17, 2020 at the Amman Hall in Al Hussein Youth City, the highly-anticipated Open Day event was a resounding success, attracting a bustling crowd of over 1000 hopeful applicants, eager to discover more about the potentially life-changing scholarship. The event’s excellent turnout clearly demonstrated the importance of the scholarship and its potential impact on the futures of recipients.

The event began with an inspiring address by Joramco CEO, Jeff Wilkinson who said about the scholarship, “We set out with a vision to provide the community with an opportunity that will not only improve individuals, but the entire country as a whole. This scholarship is our investment in you, the next generation of bright minds, and in the future prosperity of the Kingdom.”

For 25 of the most dedicated students, the scholarship will not only cover the full cost of the aircraft maintenance training program, but also guarantee a career at Joramco after graduation.  The scholarship was given full support by DAE as part of its C.S.R. to give back to the community through the scholarship which will provide opportunities in line with the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II to support the youth and create jobs through vocational training opportunities.

The MRO scholarship is the first of its kind, and Joramco’s solution to support the growth of the country’s economy by providing Jordanian students with the opportunity to secure their future success, and actively contribute to the development of the private sector.

Over 1000 applications were received over the course of the Open Day, which will be reviewed by a distinguished panel who will then narrow the search down to a shortlisted group of applicants who will be contacted for interviews and dexterity tests over the next 10 days.

The final interviews and selection will take place mid-March and will be performed by an external committee to ensure that the selection of scholarship recipients is fair, unbiased and based solely on the merit of the applicants.

Joramco is confident that their multi-step filtering process will result in the selection of 25 successful candidates ready to embark on this life-changing journey in mid-April.
