Innovera Group, a leading EdTech, technology manufacturing, application development and healthcare software development company based in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, today announced the appointment of Robert Speed as its Group CEO. In this new role, Speed will spearhead the group’s strategic expansion across the region and beyond, in line with the exponential growth seen across the EdTech sector.

Speed wields a 15-year track record in operational and strategic leadership, engineering go-to market expansion, and fostering tactical partnerships that deliver significant value. He has served in various senior management roles — most recently as the Vice President for the MEA region at EdTech company Blackboard. Prior to this, he served as the head of the ME region for Promethean, a leading K-12 EdTech company. Both positions focused heavily on steering growth, delivering productivity and profitability in emerging markets, creating and leading integrated teams, and deepening channel partnerships.

“Robert’s extensive experience in the EdTech sector, coupled with his regional and global business development skills, will help us strengthen our existing international partnerships and foster brand new ones. We believe his strong leadership skills will streamline our business structure to cultivate organic growth and to better support our valued client base,” noted Ahmed Fekry, Group Chairman and Founder of Innovera.

“As the EdTech sector cycles through restructuring, consolidation and digital technology transformation, it will continue to experience heavy growth. Innovera Group is at an exciting juncture in its trajectory — it is uniquely poised to pivot and further capitalise on this rapidly changing environment by offering the support and the services its customer base needs. I am delighted to come on board and lead this dedicated, seasoned team,” commented Speed.
