General Automotive Company launches new State-of-the-Art FUSO 3S Facility

• Features Express Service facility which includes a 29-point vehicle check in 90 minutes

Muscat: General Automotive Company (GAC), the official distributor of FUSO vehicles in the Sultanate, recently launched the first of its kind 3S FUSO facility in the entire Middle East. The introduction of the new facility is in line with GAC’s efforts to further enhance its presence in the country, while also celebrating its successful journey spanning over four decades. The launch was organised by GAC on Monday, February 18, and took place at the new FUSO Truck Centre in Al Athaibah. The ceremony was attended by Sebastien Henry, General Manager of FUSO Middle East and North Africa, Venukumar Vasudevan, Head of Customer Services, FUSO Middle East and North Africa, Hani Al Zubair, Chairman of the Zubair Automotive Group and Manoj Ranade, the GM of General Automotive Company. Also in attendance were other GAC and FUSO Oman team members, several FUSO customers, and local media representatives. The facility is built on an area of 12,000 square meters as per the latest international standards, capable of handling express service of up to 60 vehicles daily.

The ceremony began with a welcome speech given by Salim Al Harthy, Marketing Manager of FUSO Oman in which he highlighted the potential of the new FUSO facility and the services it offers to customer, emphasising on an unmatched experience in terms of quality, comfort, and speed. He also spoke about the relationship between GAC and Daimler Commercial Vehicles, the manufacturer of FUSO vehicles, as well as on the areas of investment and development in the showrooms, sales, and spare parts facilities. During GAC’s successful journey, it has received several prestigious awards, including a Sales awards at the Middle East level and Customer Service award at global level. It has also been honoured with several international accolades for offering a tailored training programme for FUSO drivers as well as the service and spare parts marketing teams.

The new FUSO Oman integrated centre ensures that customers receive regular maintenance at the highest standards, and provide express service for the delivery of Canter Trucks & Rosa Buses in 90 minutes. It also offers mobile maintenance services facility for clients at their convenient locations, which saves time, effort and operational costs. Additionally, the new centre also provides the facility of sending drivers to collect vehicles from customers at their workplace and bringing them to the centre for regular maintenance or for required repairs.

On this occasion, Manoj Ranade, the GM of General Automotive Company, said, “I am pleased to begin a new step in the success of the FUSO brand in the Sultanate to strengthen our relationship with our valued customers and to continue to provide distinguished services through the opening of the all-new FUSO facility. “At this integrated centre for trucks and buses, FUSO owners can book a regular maintenance appointment for their vehicles at regular service internals and opt get it serviced in 90 minutes with prior appointment, complete with a complementary vehicle wash. While the vehicle undergoes this service, customers can wait in the dedicated customer lounge and avail the free WiFi & refreshments. The new centre will be open from Saturday to Thursday from 7:00am until 7:00pm,” he added.

On the occasion of the opening of the new and integrated FUSO facility, Sebastien Henry said, “FUSO has a long and proud history of achievements. During the ceremony, Ashraf Osman, National Service Manager at General Automotive Company gave a detailed presentation in which he explained the services and benefits of the new FUSO facility. He also reviewed the stages when conducting a regular maintenance and express service, which include a 29-point check on the vehicle to ensure its safety on the road, and finally the vehicle wash and handover; all of which are completed in 90 minutes. He also spoke about the mobile maintenance service facility that provide services to clients at their convenient locations.

Before the end of the ceremony, the attendees were invited to cut the ribbon and given a tour of the facility’s various sections, which included Sales, Service Reception, Express Service Work & Washing Bays as well as air-conditioned Delivery Area. The attendees were also invited to take a closer look few of the showcased Fuso models.
