International interior design firm with headquarters in Dubai Algedra Group has successfully delivered another luxury residential project in Dubai amid COVID-19.

COVID-19 pandemic had a devastating effect on the global markets. While sectors like food commodities and e-commerce have seen growth, the construction sector slowed down and many projects were suspended. The real estate saw negative growth in transactions due to uncertainty.

While governments were doing their best to take all measures to slow down the pandemics and minimize the negative impact brought with it, businesses had to rethink their strategies and operations to remain sustainable in response to changing consumer demand. The architecture design field was not an exception.

Despite the slow economy, Algedra CEO Mohab Ayoub sees the positive outcome in the post-pandemic.

‘Architecture and design projects always come with their challenges, and in our latest delivered residential project, given circumstances, we faced additional obstacles.’- said Mohab Ayoub.

Algedra has branches in several countries, where impacted logistics and reduced factories' operations affected the project progress.

As per Mohab Ayoub, the most challenging part was executing the fit-out due to imposed lockdown, however through the efficient project management and maximizing efforts on the given timings according to the government regulations, the team was able to deliver results on time.

Company was monitoring the development of virus concerns globally to stay ahead of the spread and had to take all necessary precautionary measures accordingly.

In response to the global outbreak of COVID-19 Algedra Group design division effectively switched its all branches operations to remote work mode, which ensured undisruptive operation and continuity of other projects in the pipeline.

“Pandemic crisis forced businesses to accelerate digital innovation and find an alternative way of operating at the same time, raising the bar of competitive advantage for those who were able to respond timeously, which is ultimately beneficial for the end consumer.”- commented the CEO.

COVID-19 outbreak has altered how the business will operate in post-pandemic, consumers' behavior, and even trends in the design field however, with the lifted quarantine and restrictions ease up, we may expect a market revive.
