Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Global Market Academy (ADGM Academy) is delighted to announce the launch of the prestigious Certificate in Sustainable Finance, offered in partnership with the London Institute of Banking & Finance.

Offered through ADGM Academy’s School of Sustainable Finance and developed by its partner, The London Institute of Banking & Finance, the programme will align study of the core principles of banking and finance with sustainable concerns.

Sustainability within Banking and Finance requires a critical rethinking of almost every aspect of leadership, operations and management. This new programme and qualification will address the sustainable imperative by examining banking and finance from the ‘ground up’, reviewing industry assumptions around markets, forecasting, risk, credit, investment and more.

The programme will be ‘hands-on’, replete with meaningful case studies and examples, helping delegates to gain an understanding of the environmental, social and governance considerations around sustainable finance. Delegates will explore current thinking on taxonomy and regulation and learn to develop practical strategies that can be implemented within their organisation.

The Certificate in Sustainable Finance allows for study at ADGM Academy in Abu Dhabi using a blended model of face-to-face and digital sessions. Graduation will take place in London at The London Institute of Banking & Finance which is responsible delivering and awarding the qualification. There will be scholarship opportunities for outstanding students.

The launch of the programme coincided with the second edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Finance Forum, organised by Abu Dhabi Global Market on 15 January, during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.

“The ADGM Academy Certificate in Sustainable Finance will create a new cohort of financial professionals with a high level of expertise in sustainability. Through high quality professional education, ADGM Academy can empower organisations to support greener initiatives and working practices in every aspect of their operations and investments,” comments Mr Hamad Al Mazrouei, Managing Director of ADGM Academy.

Alex Fraser, Chief Executive of The London Institute of Banking & Finance comments, “We are delighted to have been asked by ADGM Academy to deliver the Certificate of Sustainable Finance, which marks an exciting development in the professional education programmes offered to delegates in Abu Dhabi. We hope that this new and innovative qualification will prove a useful building block in ADGM’s exceptional contribution to sustainable finance within the UAE and beyond.”
