CAIRO- Egypt, the world's largest wheat buyer, has strategic reserves of the grain to cover 5-6 months of consumption, an aide to the supply minister said on Monday.

The country has procured 3.5 million tonnes of local wheat in the harvest season which began in mid-April and is set to end this week.
