Dubai: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) has welcomed 400 new investors via approved brokerage companies in 2020, a rise of 4.6% on a year-on-year (YoY) basis.  

The number of new investors in the DFM hiked to 9,050 in 2020, compared with 8,650 in 2019, according to data collected by Mubasher based on official figures.

In December 2020, a total of 30 brokerage firms achieved AED 11.27 billion in liquidity after concluding 156,720 deals.

BH Mubasher Financial Services logged the largest turnover last month of AED 1.55 billion, accounting for 13.79% of total liquidity. EFG Hermes recorded liquidity of AED 1.3 billion, accounting for 11.6% of the total value.

Meanwhile, ADIB Securities and Arqaam Securities gained AED 1.19 billion and AED 970.35 million in traded values, respectively.

In 2019, the number of brokerage companies totalled 40, with a turnover of AED 106.19 billion and a trading volume of 80.09 billion shares.
