Bahrain - The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) announced that its monthly issue of the short-term Islamic leasing bonds, sukuk Al Ijara, has been oversubscribed by 119%, according to a recent statement by the central bank.

Subscription value totalled BHD 31 million, being received for the BHD 26 million sukuk issue.

This sukuk issue carries will mature in 182 days or six months on 8 August 2019.

The expected return on the issue, which begins on 7 February 2019, is 4.39% compared to 4.40% for the previous issue on 10 January 2019.

It is noteworthy that Sukuk Al Ijara are issued by the CBB on behalf of the Bahraini government.
