MANILA - The Philippines recorded 2,223 newly reported coronavirus infections and 43 additional deaths on Sunday.

The country's total confirmed cases had climbed to 370,028, while its death toll had risen to 6,977, the health ministry said in a bulletin.

The Philippines has the second-highest number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in Southeast Asia after Indonesia.
