Muscat - The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) has forecast hazy conditions over most parts of the sultanate with chances of dust storm in open areas and low level clouds or fog formations over parts of Buraimi governorate and along the coastal areas of Sea of Oman. This condition is expected to stay like this till Monday. 

The northern parts of the country have been witnessing strong winds since Saturday morning which will bring temperature down, an official from the Directorate General of Meteorology, has said. Explaining the condition, the official said, “This is a normal phenomenon of the year and it signifies that winter is in its last stage.

The northwest winds that are active have started blowing since Saturday early morning. This started from Musandam and it will gradually move towards the rest of the northern governorates till Monday evening. The winds will be accompanied by a rise in sea waves and a drop in temperature by 3-6 degrees C.”

Temperatures are expected to drop to below 15 degrees C in Haima, Nizwa, Buraimi, Rustaq, Ibri, Ibra and Saiq too.
