Cairo –  Egypt’s Ministry of Transport announced that its decision to provide free public transport for those over 70 years of age, including tickets for the railway and metro, will be applied starting from Thursday, 15 October.

Senior people over 60 years old will be allowed to ride public transportation means with half-fare tickets, according to a statement on Wednesday.

Reduced-fare tickets and subscriptions are being printed so that senior citizens can benefit from the decision, the ministry said.
