Cairo –  Egypt has recently received 546,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine from the French government.

This is part of the COVAX agreement in cooperation with GAVI Alliance, World Health Organization (WHO), and UNICEF, the Minister of Health and Population, Hala Zayed, said in a statement on Sunday.

The shipment was delivered in two batches, arriving at Cairo International Airport on Friday and Saturday, Assistant to the Minister of Health, Khaled Megahed, said.

The COVID-19 vaccines are administered at 781 vaccination centres spread across all governorates in Egypt.
