In line with the decisions of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection and the National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management, the Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai headed by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Dubai has decided to partially reduce the restrictions on movement starting, Friday, April 24 coinciding with the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan.

The decision came after the successful implementation of all precautionary measures taken during the past three weeks. Dubai will continue to implement sterilization and medical examinations on a large scale throughout the emirate. Preventive measures to stop the spread of the Covid-19 Coronavirus will also be adopted.

These are the preventive measures: 

- A fine of Dh 1,000 will be levied on individuals who do not wear face masks outside their homes.
- All Ramadan tents, at home and in public areas are prohibited.
- All economic sectors that have resumed activities will operate with only 30 per cent of the capacity, both for employees and visitors
- You can travel during the day - from 6 am to 10 pm - without a permit. This includes the use of public transportation, family visits and outdoor activities
- You are allowed to visit to first- and second-degree relatives. However a gathering of more than five people is not allowed and all residents are requested to maintain a distance of at least two meters between each other
- Sports activities are allowed for an hour or two every day
-  Shopping centers, malls and commercial stores can stay open from 12 noon to 10 pm. However, only 30 per cent of the total capacity of the center is allowed.
- The ban on family entertainment halls, cinemas, dressing rooms and prayer rooms in shopping centers continues
- Public transportation, including metro services to resume from Sunday, April 26. However, the pre-described tariff system and precautionary measures have been put into place
- The Dubai Metro Red and Green Lines will work from 7am until 11 pm. All passengers have to maintain social distancing and wear masks.
- Remote work system will continue and work places are allowed to have only 30 per cent of the total employees, only if necessary
- Imposing preventive measures on all businesses and excluded sectors and continuous monitoring processes to ensure their implementation.
