Muscat: Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources (RMWR) has closed a cafe for violating the Supreme Committee's rules in north Al Batinah governorate.

A statement issued online by RMWR said, "The Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources in coordination with Royal Oman Police and Oman Public prosecution has shut down a cafe that had been offering sheesha and alcoholic drinks for the customers in Suwaiq."

"The workers and visitors of the cafe have been referred to the public prosecution to take legal measures. The Ministry confirms that it has intensified censorship in all governorates of the Sultanate and has taken the necessary legal measures against any facility that has been violating the rules," the statement added.
