BEIRUT: The National Disaster Risk Management Unit Friday announced new coronavirus measures for the upcoming month of Ramadan, with new curfew hours and prevention measures.

Following a three-day lockdown over Easter weekend, new measures will also be implemented for the upcoming month of Ramadan.

Starting April 12, curfew hours will be between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. with supermarkets, pharmacies and delivery services allowed to operate around the clock.

Restaurants will be allowed to open at 50 percent capacity.

Ramadan tents, vendors and feasts will be banned. Organizations and charities that plan on distributing food boxes and aid are required to get a permit from the Interior Ministry.

Mosques will be allowed to open at 30 percent intake capacity. Religious officials are required to ensure that virus prevention measures are implemented.
