Bahrain has extended the suspension of all flights arriving from Dubai and Sharjah for an additional 48 hours.

The Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) has also reduced the number of incoming regional flights.

“This decision has been taken to safeguard the health of the kingdom’s citizens and residents,” said a statement last night.

“The CAA urges all Bahraini citizens and residents who are currently in areas affected by Coronavirus (Covid-19) and who were planning to return to the kingdom to call +973-17227555.

“The CAA affirms that it is co-operating with all relevant authorities to take the necessary measures to contain and combat the spread of Covid-19.”

Meanwhile, Gulf Air passengers have been advised to visit gulfair.com for a list of the affected flights along with rebooking and refund instructions.

“The Gulf Air Contact Centre will be contacting affected passengers and assisting them accordingly; passengers who have made their bookings through a travel agent are advised to get in touch with the agents directly regarding their rebooking and refund options,” a statement issued by the airline said.

“Passengers should check the airline’s website before travelling or call the Gulf Air Contact Centre for more information on +97317373737.”
