AE – Mubasher: Hazza Alqahtani, the UAE ambassador to Rwanda, said that the trade exchange between the two countries has seen remarkable growth in 2018, Emarat Al Youm reported.

The UAE-Rwanda bilateral trade stood at $434.8 million last year, Alqahtani indicated.

The UAE’s trade exchange with Rwanda rose between 2014 and 2016 t0 $200 million from $30 million, he added.

He also stressed that the diplomatic relations between the two nations have developed since 1995.

The UAE has opened the headquarter of its embassy in the Rwandan capital of Kigali in March 2018, with the presence of Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation, he said.

Alqahtani further noted that the UAE is considering boosting its economic ties with the African country by investing in its agricultural, education, infrastructure, and tourism sectors.
