Kuwait’s banknotes and coins in circulation posted a 15.36% year-on-year rise in July 2019.

Total money in circulation amounted to KWD 1.885 billion ($6.215 billion) in July 2019 when compared to KWD 1.634 billion ($5.388 billion) in the same month in 2018, according to recent data released by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK).

Month-on-month, total banknotes of all denominations circulated in Kuwait recorded KWD 1.856 billion in July 2019 when compared to KWD 1.667 billion, data revealed.

The 20-Kuwaiti-dinar-note logged the highest trading in July 2019 at a value of KWD 1.08 billion, while the 1?4 Kuwaiti-dinar-note posted the lowest trading at KWD 12.48 million.

As for coins, a value of KWD 28.370 million was registered in July 2019, compared to KWD 26.981 million in the same month in 2018, with a 5.15% rise.

The Kuwaiti 100-fils coin led the trading activity with KWD 12.69 million in July 2019, while the Kuwaiti 1-fils coin was least traded in transactions with a value of about KWD 12,750.
