The Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) has issued a decision, upon which it approved that the services offered by the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) will be now subject to the 14% value-added tax (VAT), according to a statement released by EDA.

This decision has been effective starting from August 1st, 2021, the EDA added in the statement.

Accordingly, the 14% VAT will be imposed on all the services carried out by the EDA, including licensing products, performing tests, and supervising drug production.
