Dubai, UAE: BSA Ahmad Bin Hezeem & Associates LLP, one of the region’s leading law firms, has announced the appointment of Simon Isgar as Head of Insurance.

A qualified barrister, Simon previously headed up Kennedys Dubai LLP’s MENA corporate and regulatory insurance practice.  He joins BSA’s growing team of corporate lawyers, to form the largest corporate insurance practice in the MENA region.

A specialist in international health regulation and health insurance law as well as general corporate law, Simon is a member of the DIFC Insurance Association and sits on the regulatory and Life & Health committees.  He advises insurance intermediaries on the placement of risks and products in foreign markets including underwriting agents and brokers.

Simon was called to the Bar in 1998, practising commercial and company law matters in the English courts and has higher rights of audience in the courts of England & Wales. He has 17 years extensive experience in representing international insurers and international intermediaries in the medical and life insurance markets globally.

His specialist experience in corporate insurance transactional work includes setting up international insurers and agents in foreign markets through local incorporation, reinsurance arrangements and partnering with local licensed primary insurers in all lines of insurance, specifically life and health. In addition, Simon is also an experienced advocate, having acted for a number of larger insurers in the English courts in relation to UK part VII transfers of insurance risk to other risk holders.
