Abu Dhabi: Provis Real Estate Management, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aldar Properties, has achieved energy and cost savings amounting to over AED 6.5 million across 12 managed communities in 2020.

This achievement was made after the company had launched several sustainability initiatives, including water and electricity optimisation, installation of LED lights, and use of water conservation techniques, according to a press release on Wednesday.

These initiatives have enabled the company to cut over 16,000 tonnes of carbon emissions and conserve 36 million kWh of total energy from electricity and chilled water consumption.

The company has also utilised its real-time cloud-based Building Management System (BMS), expected to save 4% to 6% of energy and operate costs annually.

The CEO at Provis, H.P Aengaar, said: "Provis consistently implements high impact sustainability initiatives that help preserve our natural resources and reduce unnecessary carbon emissions while also driving down operating costs."

Aengaar added: "We also aim to increase the energy savings in our communities by more than 15% during the next two years."
