Riyadh –   Saudi Arabia’s oil exports declined by about 44,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 8.57 million bpd (mbpd) in April, compared to 8.614 mbpd a month earlier, the Joint Organisations Data Initiative’s (JODI) data revealed.

Saudi Arabia’s oil exports retreated in April despite the increase in crude oil exports of the OPEC kingpin nation by 36,000 bpd month-on-month.

Crude oil exports rose to 7.177 mbpd in the fourth month of 2019, compared to 7.141 mbpd in March.

Meanwhile, the kingdom’s petroleum product exports hit the lowest level in 23 months, after dropping by 80,000 bpd to 1.393 mbpd in April from 1.473 mbpd a month earlier.

The GCC nation’s crude oil output surged by 20,000 bpd to 9.807 mbpd in April, compared to 9.787 mbpd in March.

Year-on-year, Saudi crude oil production retreated 61,000 bpd from 9.868 mbpd in April 2018.

On a side note, a recent report by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GaStat) showed that the kingdom’s total merchandise exports reached SAR 86.96 billion in April, compared to SAR 89.65 billion in the same month a year ago.
