KUWAIT - All oil operations of the Kuwaiti Gulf Oil Company (KGOC) in the joint Al-Wafra zone are proceeding according to plan with no obstacles whatsoever, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The company denied as false speculations and reports that Al-Wafra wells might be shut due to alleged closure of the security gate on the Kuwaiti side of the region.

The company is regularly following up on the works in the operation zone in Al-Wafra in coordination with concerned authorities namely the Kuawiti Ministry of Interior.

It affirmed the zone had witnessed the first shipment of extracted crude oil after the recent resumption of operations there.

The company, a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, was established in 2002, taking charge of Kuwait's share in the oil fields in the divided zone between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. (end) km.rk
