Cairo – Hill International, listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), has been awarded a contract to provide project management, design review, and implementation supervision services for the New Administrative Capital City and 6th of October City Monorail project in Egypt.

Upon completion, the two lines of the estimated $4 billion monorail project will transport about 45,000 passengers per hour at peak capacity, the company said on its website late on Wednesday.

It will be the world’s longest monorail system at a combined length of 98.5 kilometres.

The CEO of Hill International, Raouf Ghali, said, “With demographic factors, astute planning, and innovation providing an engine for growth in Egypt, we expect the country will set a global standard in executing ambitious infrastructure projects and programs like the Cairo Monorail for many years to come.”
