Egypt - The Ministry of Transport announced that development and maintenance works of the Ring Road have a total cost of EGP 7.3 billion, according to a May 31st statement.
The works cover an area of 106 kilometers from Al Mariottia to Autostrad, with a 30% expansion of Autostrad Bridge.
The government plans to introduce Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) in specific lanes.
In 2019, Egypt’s trade minister back then Amr Nassar met with H?kan Agnevall, president of Volvo Bus Corporation, to consider potential BRT projects in the African state.
The BRT system combines the capacity and speed of a metro with the lower, Nassar had noted.
