UAE - The UAE's SirajPower has signed a cooperation agreement with Al Ghurair Group to establish solar power systems in the group's facilities and establishments in the UAE.

In the first phase of the project, SirajPower will design, establish, operate, and maintain a solar rooftop plant at Al Ghurair's Gulf Extrusions company in Jebel Ali in Dubai, with a production capacity of 1.8 megawatts (MW) during peak times, according to a press release on Tuesday.

The project includes the installation of 4,500 solar panels, whose aluminium rod will be manufactured by Gulf Extrusions, to cut 2,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide gas emissions.

Al Ghurair Group is the latest addition to SirajPower's portfolio which includes more than 170 solar plants installed across several companies in the UAE.
