French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday met Xi Jinping for talks in Paris as the Chinese leader kicked off official business on a state visit to France.
Macron warmly greeted Xi in the courtyard of the Elysee presidential palace before taking him inside for discussions expected to be dominated by Ukraine and trade. The first talks will be in trilateral format with EU Commission president Ursula von der Leyen joining in.
