China said Tuesday it had issued a "strong" complaint to Washington and others over accusations of hacking, after the US, Britain and New Zealand accused Beijing-backed cyber groups of being behind a series of attacks on lawmakers and key democratic institutions.
Accusing the United States of working to "hype up so-called Chinese cyberattacks", foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said Beijing had "made strong demarches with the United States and relevant parties".
