Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) is expected to award the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for its estimated $75 million Glass reinforced Epoxy Water Transmission Pipelines project in the second quarter of 2023.

“The tender for the EPC contract was issued on 18 January 2023 and the bid submission is scheduled on 9 March 2023. The contract is expected to be awarded by early May 2023,” a source aware of the project details told Zawya Projects.

The commercial bidders list comprised of Al Nasr Contracting Company LLC ($64.3 million), Al Shirawi Infrastructure Construction ($24 million), Binladin Contracting Group ($78 million), China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group ($71.2 million), Dhafir Technologies ($80 million), Green Oasis General Contracting Co. ($63 million), KASCOD Contracting Co ($23 million); Nael Construction and Contracting ($74.4 million), SYED Contracting ($35 million); Tristar Engineering & Construction ($65 million), Wade Adams Contracting ($86 million), according to DEWA website.

Maetel Instalaciones Y Servicios Industriales, AASA Middle East Contracting Company, Target & Jima Construction Co., Shapoorji Pallonji Mideast, Gulf Petrochemical Services & Trading, Al Marwan Heavy Machinery, Larsen & Toubro Limited ECC Construction, Abu Dhabi Pipe Factory didn’t participate.

The scope of work involves the supply, installation, testing and commissioning Glass reinforced Epoxy water transmission pipeline network and associated works.

The project is slated for completion by the third quarter of 2025, the source said, adding that his estimate of the project cost is $75 million.
