Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications has issued a fresh shortlist of companies for its tender seeking proposals to provide consultancy and preliminary design services for Bahrain Metro extension to Bahrain Sport City, according to a Tender Board notice on Wednesday.
In June, Zawya Projects had reported that 8 companies were shortlisted for the contract.

The contract involves feasibility study for extending Bahrain metro corridor from King Hamad Railway Station at Alramli area to the new sports City and the International Exhibition Centre at Sakhir area.
The latest tender board notice said the bids were opened on 6 September, and 7 companies have submitted bids for the Request for Proposals tender. IDOM Consulting submitted the highest bid while the lowest was submitted RINA Consulting.
The bidders are Consolidated Engineering Company Khatib & Alami (323,542.800 Bahraini dinars); RINA Consulting - Abu Dhabi (165,528.000 dinars); IDOM Consulting Engineering Architecture (598,500.000 dinars); SENER Ingenieria y Sistemas (262,500.000 dinars); Dar Al Handash Consultants(Shair & PARTNERS) (303,949.000 dinars); Mohamed Salahuddin Consulting Engineering Bureau (353,411.450 dinars) and AECOM Middle East (351,750.000 dinars).
The broad scope of work includes evaluation of different alternative corridor, demand study and station allocation, concept and preliminary design of corridor and cost estimate of the project.
