Cairo – Mubasher: The cost of the extension project of El Marg and New El Marg metro stations amounted to EGP 600 million, Egypt’s deputy minister of transport said on Wednesday.

The extension contributed to reducing the trip time between the two stops to three minutes and a half, from 12 minutes, along with slashing the trip time from Helwan stop to New El Marg station to a record of 75, Amr Shaat added in a statement.

The Egyptian official further indicated that the government has set a full-fledged plan to develop the metro’s first line with a cost of EGP 30 billion over the coming period.
