The Ministry of Infrastructure Development has completed 95 per cent of the construction of Al Dhaid Police Station in Sharjah.

The project, which began in mid-2016, is estimated at Dh96 million and expected to be completed in the third quarter (Q3) of the year.

The new police station spread across 114,000 square metres also comprises a traffic department, detention department, court, immigration and residency department, civil defence building, service building and warehouses.

The ministry added that the project had taken into consideration principles of sustainability by using green concrete and reducing energy consumption by using external poles of solar energy, synchronising it with the contemporary designs to facilitate movement within the building to access different sections. It will also reduce sources of pollution and depletion of natural resources.
